How to engage with your members when they are not at sessions!

When your members are at your club sessions, they are engaged with you and your club activities whilst having fun and interacting with others.

It becomes much harder to keep that engagement going when they head home, but it’s so important to keep them involved with you between your sessions to keep your club retention rates high.

This is where having a good digital presence and club management tools can really help. Here are some tips for engaging with members outside of club sessions!

Member portal

Having a platform where your members, or their parents, can easily access at times that suit them to see all your latest club information can really help to keep them engaged with you. Show them the upcoming programme, let them book onto events, keep their personal information up-to-date and see their own award progression.

Communication tools

By using digital communication tools, you can keep your members easily updated with important club news. Send a monthly newsletter, a welcome pack or create a survey to get some club and session feedback. You should be able to personalise and track your member emails too – seeing who has opened and who hasn’t opened an important email could be very helpful.

Social media

It’s likely that most of your members use social media regularly so you should ensure your club has a presence on the relevant channels for your audience. This could be on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest etc. Once you’ve created your club page, invite your members to it and encourage engagement with your posts. Some ideas for good social engagement posts could be photos after sessions, competitions, events, seasonal offers etc.
